受身にしてはいけないパターン②

次の英文には，文法上取り除かなければならない語が一語ずつある。解答用紙の所定欄に，該当する語とその直後の一語，合わせて二語をその順に記せ。文の最後の語を取り除かなければならない場合は，該当する語と×(バツ)を記せ。

　昨日の問題。取り除くべき語は「became」である。consistは自動詞で、受身にしてはならない。consist of Aで「Ａから構成される」の意味。= be composed pf A = be made up of Aで、これと混同して、consist も受身の形にしまう受験生が多い。

　他に受身にしてはいけないものとして、「happen」→ ×be happened、「seem」→ ×be seemed、「take place」→ ×be taken place、「grow up」→ ×be grown up
